Build your fire protection schedule

Most failed fire inspections are not caused by neglect. They are caused by nobody owning the calendar — extinguishers annual, emergency lighting monthly and annual, kitchen suppression semi-annual, and no single place tracking what is due when.

Answer two questions and you will get a printable schedule showing what is due, how often, and which items are yours rather than a contractor's. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere.

Step 1

What kind of building is it?

Common questions

Is this schedule specific to my building?

It reflects the general requirements under the standards cited for the equipment you selected. Your local authority having jurisdiction sets what applies to your specific building and can require more. Treat it as a working schedule, not a compliance certificate.

Why are some tasks marked as ours rather than a technician’s?

Because they are. The monthly extinguisher check and the monthly emergency lighting test are placed on the building owner or occupant, not on a service company. Most businesses skip them simply because nobody told them they were theirs.

Do we have to hire you to use this?

No. Print it, put it in the binder, and work it with whoever services your equipment. We would rather every building in Western North Carolina had one of these than have it be a sales tool.
